I attached it to a QuadraFire pellet stove and it works well. The only thing that would make it better would be a method to attach it temporarily to a wall like a regular thermostat. I used a peel and stick command strip, but think a piece of velcro might work better if you are taking it down a lot. Otherwise, I recommend it.

This product works well and was easy to setup and install. If you are thinking of purchasing one be aware that I sent mine back twice as it just looked plain beatup upon arrival. I was assured by the vendor they were new units. I don't understand how something new can be all scuffed up. Funtionality is great! Presentation not so much :(

I can't believe how quickly the log set arrived! It is just what we wanted since we cannot use our firerplace for a real fire. It does provide supplemental warmth and we enjoy watching it as do our cats. Our only problem was that we plugged it into an outlet that serviced our TV, several lights, etc., and when I turned the controls to their highest position, we had darkness!! Arrived super fast. Easy: just pull out of the box and plug in. I live in a mission-style 1926 apt that formerly had natural gas inserts. To sub fire, I bought this. Potentially cheesy on its own, it morphs into an almost glorious scene (to disguise the Lego-look, I camouflaged with an attractive fireplace screen.) Keeps the room slightly warmer (9'x14') so not a big game changer in the heat dept. Remote control fake fire does kick some butt during rainy Seattle months. Good value for added ambiance.

thought i had struck gold-wrong-it boils over very easy when you are trying to get it hot to boil for steam-after having it on the burner for two days, i thought ok time to pour it out and start again with fresh water-i had put olive oil in with the first 2 quarts of water-so i thought it would be seasoned enough to stop rusting-wrong-my husband was next to me at the sink when i tried to lift the kettle and empty it in the sink-the handle gave way and i was burnt by the steami let go---the handle came out of the kettle lip it was in-i was terrified-why these people cannot spend enough money to make these handles safe==I DO NOT UNDERSTAND!!!

If you put more than three cups of fluid in this piece of trash it will boil over. There's no way to pour anything without leaking all over the place. I like to make my coffee cowboy style (just put the grounds directly in the pot). I thought this would be a great thing to use. After three messes, I'll never use it again. Absolutely the poorest design I've ever seen. Not only is it a mess on the stove, but you have to pour out your cup over the sink, because if you don't, It'll leak out all over the place. I feel ripped off and I usually don't give anything a bad review. It's well made, but cast iron is hard to screw up.

After seeing this actual product I can attest that it isn't difficult to install. Would recommend it to anybody whose masonry fireplace was built without any rod for hanging a mesh screen across the opening. These rod kits aren't easy to find. Instructions specify a masonry drill bit for the stone or concrete lintel over your opening. Another bit is needed for your drill, if the lintel is made of metal, but any good hardware department has 'em at moderate cost. Excellent illustrated installation instructions are provided with this kit.

This product was shipping quickly and arrived faster than I expected. It's very easy to install and it looks OK. Those are the positives. It's very light metal and the paint job is low quality. Mine arrived with patches of small bubbles in the paint which will make it scratch easily. I imagine I'll need to take it down to sand and repaint it. The "quality" pulls are junk. The screen is fine. Overall the screen price and quality are acceptable but I'd look else where for the valance.

This was a total waste of money and, of course, I will not be ordering anything from this company in the near or distant future.

The Diamond Kd Log Bin is heavy-duty, yet still has a relatively small footprint.

Assembly was straight-forward. I did have a slight problem since two of the holes were misaligned, but I was able to apply enough torque to make it line up. As a result, it may have taken 10 minutes to assemble using only the included Allen wrench.

The design is perfect. Loading the wood well over the top is not a problem. The bin maintains its shape without so much as a creak. The paint durability is impressive as well. After 4 to 5 loads of not so gingerly placed wood, the paint is still perfect without apparent scratches or chips.

The bottom line is that the Diamond Kd Log Bin is exactly what I was looking for to accompany my new Englander wood stove. I didn't want ornate, frilly designs, but rather simple and durable. The Diamond Kd Log Bin accomplishes this quite well.

The Canadian-built blower that we received is well constructed. The assembly came pre-wired and installed promptly. It is efficient. In testing with an infrared temp gun, we find that the heat now directed into the livingroom area is substantially higher. Heat dissipating into the mantle and walls surrounding the gas-log 39" Majestic fireplace went down substantially. This means the heat is going into the room instead of super-heating the wall around the fireplace. We feel safer, warmer and are able to use the gas-log fireplace efficiently. With an overhead fan in the room and a well-insulated home, on a sub-freezing night we can heat most of the house to 71-degrees F without the forced air furnace running. This enables us to enjoy the gas-log fireplace as a utility item and not just a cosmetic device. Some complain of the noise, but our unit came with sturdy attachment magnets that allow firm mounting. If set up squarely against the rear wall and floor as recommended, vibration and resonating noise can be minimized. We removed the original Velcro strips to fit the fan unit firmly against the sheet metal. If you get a unit like ours, with the motor pre-wired and magnet mounting, you should be happy. Yes, the unit does make noise, so expect to turn up the television volume! The blower models with adjustable speed might provide quieter operation at lower speeds. Our unit did not come with any instructions. It would be helpful to many if there were details included on how to position the blower unit.

I recieved a quote fron the original fireplace installer of $170.00 for blower.He said that was what majestic quoted him.I checked amazon and found it for $100.00 including shipping,I managed to install it myself and saved probably over $100.00.

I am very glad that I bought this blower. It works just like they said it would and has a little noise but not really that loud. I would not expect that it would be completely silent. It has the magnets on the back and sides which makes it easy to install. I also bought a Thermal Switch so it goes on when the fireplace it hot and goes off when it has cooled down so you don't waist any heat and don't have to worry about turning it on or off.

It does not smell like Egyptian Cotton, it does not vacumm well, it leaves no fragrance. A cheap container of Glade Carpet Fresh does a better job at more than half the cost and can be purchased at any home improvement store, grocery store or WalMart. I would not recommend this product and I disposed of it in the trash.

Best Landmann 1508 Hearthmates Black Ash Bucket and Shovel Kit Deals

Not a bad product, but the finish could use improvement.

While the can and shovel are heavy/sturdy enough, the black paint applied to both doesn't hold up well to hot coals. When shoveling out the woodstove, the hot coals in the can blistered the paint and actually caused it to burn. The whole house smelled like burned paint and it took some time with a floor fan at the patio door to draw the smoke out of the house.

It might make more sense to have the can and shovel "blued" as they do with firearms, as opposed to painted.

I live in a condo with an internal fireplace and ratehr than use wood I use those compressed logs (mostly Duraflames). These do a great job of burning right down to very little ash so I can get through quite a period without needing to empty the grating.

Prior to using this product I used a beach bucket and spade. Looked ridiculous sitting next to the fireplace but it worked. This product is a step up from that.

The bucket is quite large being around a foot diameter and a bit more than a foot high. The enamel was done well and it looks quite good sitting in the place of the neon green bucket and spade.

The shovel is simply a sheet of metal rolled into the shovel shape but is fairly solid and works well in getting to the corners of the back of the firebox.

Overall a pretty good looking product that does exactly what it says it does. I should have bought it earlier.

We bought this after our furnace failed and we weren't just using the wood stove for entertainment or a little extra coziness. When you are running a wood stove most of the day to heat the house, you can't just wait for the ash to be cold before cleaning it out.

The shovel cleans nicely and the lid fits well on the bucket. The wood handle is a nice touch and easier on the hands. The size of the bucket also works well. I didn't give it 5 stars because, well, I just couldn't give 5 stars to a bucket and shovel. However, for what they are they work great.

What a fantastic looking log rack!

Basically, since we just bought a house I didn't want to spend the money on an expensive log rack, and this turned out to the be the perfect thing for storing the wood that I am splitting. So many people toss good burnable wood away because they don't want to pay tree service professionals extra to cut the wood down to fireplace size.

I built this log rack with pressurized wood from Lowe's. The base is made with 8' 2x4's, the verticals are made with 4' 2x4's, and the width is made with 2' 2x4's which totals a half cord of wood (8' x 4' x 4'). It works great. I put deck screws in the pre-drilled bracket holes for added stability.

I also put a piece of plywood on top, and since it was angled (I didn't care about cutting the vertical pieces to size initially, so I just trimmed them up afterwards), I put shingles on it, and now I have a gorgeous looking covered log rack. I will probably buy a second bracket kit next spring once I split the rest of the wood and want to store a whole cord for next winter.

I would advise you to try and find some cinderblocks to put the rack up on, so air can circulate around the bottom of the wood and will dry it out even faster.

All in all I would highly recommend this log rack kit regardless of your experience with wood-working in the past!

I assembled mine using pressurized wood and exterior screws. The base is made with 8' 2x4's and one cross 2x4 added to the center of the base for stiffing. The verticals are 4' 2x4's. It works great.

Works as advertised. Got a 10 x 11.5 heavy duty tarp from Home Depot, some pressure treated 2 x 4's a couple of bungees, and in no time I had a log rack measuring 9.5' long by 4' high. I used a couple of screws to maintain width, but that was not necessary. These brackets are plenty strong, and should last a long time.

I have been using these for several years to build stands to season firewood. I use two lengths of 8 foot 2x4's spliced together with Simpson strong ties to make each stand about 16' long and use 6' uprights at each end. I elevate the entire setup on surplus masonry blocks to keep it about 1' off the ground and support about every 2'. So far the 2x4 have not rotted as they did when I first had them set directly on the ground. The only other improvement I will make is to put a rope across the top of my uprights to keep them from splaying outward under the force of the stack of wood. Each setup holds well over a cord of wood if cut in 18" lengths.
