I guess when it comes down to it, this product is alright. If a hot coal falls on it the rug does sizzle away, but it doesn't go up in flames. With the chickadee pattern on it it makes it difficult to see where the first few coals have fallen, but after that it just turns into a seared hodge podge.

Even though the rug was not the one we thought we were ordering it's a great rug ... The company acknowledged the mistake right away and credited the cost of the rug to us and told us we could keep the rug since it had been an error. The rug is a good one and we're happy with it--the one in the picture on amazon that we thought we were ordering was not the one we received but it was a "happy mistake" because the little birds do fit in with our rustic decor. The rug is protecting our wood floors which is what it's supposed to do.

This looks really nice in front of my wood stove. And it has been just the thing to protect the floor from all the wood debris and occasional ash when the stove is being cleaned. I have a ceramic floor with light colored grout near the stove and this rug has done a fine job of protecting the grout from any dark smudges.

This fireplace screen arrived promptly and came out of the box ready to go. No assembly of any kind was needed. It is a darkish gray finish and the pattern that you see in the picture. One side is a heavy mesh screen and the other side has the bended metal design. It's heavy and seems substantial. The measurements given for the height are a little misleading. Because the top is arched the height varies from 26" at the corners to 31" at the top of the arch. Since my fireplace opening is 31" tall there are a couple of inches of open space at either corner where the screen doesn't come all the way up. The width is as described. I haven't used it with a fire yet so can't comment on how it protects against sparks but it certainly looks serviceable.

I consider this type of tool a must have for car camping a long hollow rod allows you to blow air exactly where a fire needs it without getting down on your hands and knees and putting your face far too close to the action. There are many combination 'blow poke' blowing tube / fire pokers on the market, but this one is my favorite. As a poker the FireDragon is excellent the rod is sturdy and a good length, and the fork on the end, rather than a single prong like many of its competitors, makes for easy and confident log and coal manipulation. And the tube is a large enough diameter for you to blow easily through it. The brass mouthpiece is comfortable to use, and does its job well. After a few seasons of use this tool is showing no wear, so I anticipate a lifetime of good service from it.

I love this product! There is not much to it as far as function goes, its a hollow tube with a mouthpiece on one end and a fork on the other. I use it all of the time for moving and flipping logs in my fire pit, as well as putting some air on a stubborn/smokey fire. The only thing wrong with the product is the weld along the flange of the brass mouthpiece. The seam where the brass goes from being part of the shaft to the flared out portion is very weak, and will easily break if you are not careful.

I usually lean mine up against the arm of my chair or similar between uses while sitting around the fire. Through the course of an evening it might occasionally slide down the arm and tip over. Just that impact has been enough to break the questionable weld. It can be easily fixed with JBWeld or similar, since its not subjected to the fire and just holding the mouthpiece together. Were it not for that weak seam/weld, this would be a 5 star item all-day-long.

I like the item so much that after my first broke, I ordered a spare. The one I fixed is holding together fine, and the epoxy is likely much more solid than the original weld. The new one is still in the box as a spare, but I inspected the weld when I received it. Sadly, its painfully apparent that this weld is still the weakest link. Be careful, and don't let it fall over onto anything hard because eventually, it will break off the mouthpiece.

I was so upset when the mouthpiece broke off the dragon stick on the very first night!!! She said she will have her son sauder it but I doubt that will happen and I feel very cheated by your product!

The Kwik-shot soot stopper has worked for several years for us. We have a 22' stainless, double-wall chimney and, while we try to burn only seasoned wood, occasionally we hit a run of less-than-perfect wood. The use of this product has eliminated the rental of a lift platform to access the top of the chimney and we have been able to avoid hiring a chimney sweep. We constantly monitor the pipe for any build-up and a quick treatment with the Kwik-shot cures any issues. The only itty-bitty item is that after a cleaning, flecks of ejected soot are evident on the snow on the lawn. That's not a problem, just evidence that the product has worked. Good stuff!

I think it is working. Makes a nice blue color. Not to sure until I sweep the chimney. I am going to chance not cleaning till end of winter. It has almost made it trough the whole season. This is a good thing. I burn all day every day. Haven't had a chimney fire yet. I put one in every week. Well worth the money considering I leave my house with fire going. Will get back in another month.

This product is great for allowing you to stay on top of keeping your chimney clean. I wouldn't totally rely on it as a preventative measure for chimney fires but it is a little extra security in keeping down the build up from winter fires. I always have my chimney professionally cleaned each year and use the cleaning sticks to reduce build up during the fireplace season. Great product!

Was skeptical at first but so glad i bought it(oct 14,2012). Used this kit last year and bought another this year. Best time to do this job is when the stove is cold. The instructions state to remove all old glue, apply a light coat of new glue and let dry for 10 to 15 minutes until it is tacky. This keeps the rope from falling out of the groove. I tried to do my last re-rope seal when the stove was a little warm and the glue went from wet to dry in about five minutes. I used a small wire wheel in my electric drill to remove all the old glue and re-glued. Works when done properly. There is enough glue in this kit to probably do five or more rope changes so if you want to save a little money, keep the leftover glue (sealed) and buy the rope seal in bulk from a woodstove store & forgo the entire kit. As an aside, I tried the graphite rope kit and DO NOT recommend it as the adhesive has a difficult time sticking to the rope. I bought one of those kits and after a few tries, threw it away.

I bought this screen because another review said it was too dark. I wanted to use it as a patio screen to hide some pottery items and dark was what I wanted. The screen isn't at all dark. For me, it's way too light, but it's lovely, and I will find a good use for it.
