This stove does a good job heating once the heavy cast heats up. It will take a 25" piece though they need to be a little on the slender side or just one large chunk. It heated up my 1000 square foot shop nicely. Put a fan behind it and it could do more. I would give it a higher rating but the price listed is considerably higher than what I paid 2 1/2 years ago. What is really expensive is the insulated pipe you will need to buy.

Bought this stove almost a year ago. We use it to heat our upstairs almost 1300 sq ft. This thing is a heat making machine. The only bad thing I can say is you only get a 4-5 hour burn when loaded and dampered down. Other than that it is a great stove for the money. If you are use to a pellet stove or high end wood burner you might find this stove to be to much work, but for me that is part of the enjoyment of heating with wood. I have read reviews complaining about smoke I think this is more operator error than the stoves fault. Please have your chimney as straight as possible any bends makes it harder to achieve a good draft. As well make sure you are using well seasoned hardwood to burn.

I just received it today and noticed they left out the grate. It does not come with it. So better order it also if you want. I look forward to lighting it up. 10/15/08 have it all put together now and there are no defects of any kind as of now. Putting together the required venting maybe tricky since I have not a one Ace Hardware, or a Lowe's, or Home Depot that has the necessary parts to complete the installation I will need to go on-line to find that. I will fill you in as I go. But I Love the looks of this stove in my home, COOL.

I recently purchased the Vogelzaang model bx26e.

I have to comment that having only used this stove twice I can safely safe this is the biggest piece of junk I have ever purchased.

The engineer must have been thinking this was for display only and not for burning anything. Some of the upper seams leak smoke. The fire door does not sit tightly against the frame and you can see flame on the other side. The damper collar almost sits outside of its recessed place and therefore leaks smoke the most.

Made in china

If you're willing to put the time in to study how this stove behaves you will discover that this is a great stove for the money. Remember it is not airtight and was not designed to be. So it can overfire pretty easily. But once you find the right amount to load into the stove and adjust the drafts properly, you will get a lot of good heat and save a TON of money (if you don't spend too much on the wood.) If you're getting smoke into your house it's because you don't have the proper chimney draft. You MUST heat the chimney first BEFORE you start burning the wood. It took two tries to get this installed right. First, the velcro was a little too sticky. When I tried to move the fan, the velcro came unstuck from the fireplace and not the hook/loop like it's supposed to. Second, I thought the temperate sensor was supposed to go on the top side of the fireplace. The first attempt yielded melting wires and loud hums from the fan.

The second attempt, I made a "bed" with insulation tape (the kind you put on door jams) and put some 2.5" wide velcro tape on the bed. This thoroughly insulated the fan from the fireplace shell. Then I took the magnet and sensor and put a screw through them so they would hold together and stuck it to the bottom of the fireplace.

Everything is working great. Other than the sound of the air moving, you can't tell the fan is on. And now the entire room warms nicely when the fireplace is on.

Does a good job and makes my otherwise useless gas fireplace useful. It puts some actual heat into the room. Instructions could have been better but it's pretty straight forward. Basically stick the blower unit to the back of the fireplace, plug it in and put the magnetic temperature switch on the top of fire pan. The unit doesn't come on as soon as it has power. It waits until the fireplace warms up and then turns on. It will also stay on for a few minutes when you turn the fireplace off to push the residual heat into the room. The noise from the fan is a little louder than I thought it would be but not too bad. There is also a fan speed control to adjust the speed (and noise) of the fan. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase and performance of the unit.

I have one in our fireplace, I installed this one in a friend's fireplace, and two other friends each have one similar to this also. They are well built units and work well. I also want to mention that the support from "fireplaceblowers" is excellent. They promptly answered questions by email and were available by phone as advertised on their website.

My installation is good but my friend's installation had an issue. These work by placing the blower below and at the back of the firebox so it blows air up the back air gap and out the top grill. The issue is my friend's fireplace has a much larger air gap (3" vs 1" in my fireplace) along the sides of the firebox which allowed a lot of the air to go down the sides to the bottom instead of out the top grill and thus recirculate into the blower. This heated up the gap under of the fireplace box which should have been cooled by incoming air. Fireplaceblowers immediately answered my phone call but, unfortuneately, did not have a ready solution. However, being able to discuss it with them helped as I devised a solution. I bought a 3x3 ft sheet of galvanized steel at Lowes, cut two 2.75 inch strips and put one strip in each air gap along the sides of fireplace to restrict the air flow along the sides. I left the 0.25 inch gap to allow side air flow if the fireplace is run without the blower. I also tested this reduced air gap to ensure I did not overheat anything but since the 3" air gap is still there, the only thing is a slight restriction of a thermally driven flow. Without an exact sketch of how I placed these sheet strips, I hope you get the idea. This worked to restrict downward side air flow, recirculating air along the sides is minimal, and good warm air is flowing out the top grill.

We bought this to use on our wood stove. The color brings a little pop to the black stove. Nice quality, so far so good.

Just FYI we ordered this along with the amazon "recommended" blue enamel steamer, but turned out the steamer was oval and not round like in the picture (at least the picture as of now). It would be nicer to have them either both be oval or both be round, but it's not the end of the world. It still looks pretty decent. Purchased this blower for our Superior Brand Gas Fireplace. It is the same as a Lennox. Downloaded and looked at the instructions for the blower and the diagrams matched our fireplace exactly. Received the fan assembly and installed it in about 10 minutes (5 of which was to vacuum out the dusty baseplate). The builder had a wall-switch controlled outlet pre-installed in the bottom of the fireplace. The fan sat right in place behind 2 tabs. Once in place, I bent the tabs up to sit into 2 slots on the fan base, plugged it into the outlet and I was done. The fan is a bit loud, but after I installed the rotary speed switch (not absolutely required) in place of the toggle switch in the wall outlet box, I can lower the speed to just barely audible. Extremely happy with the product and the whole installation process. Bear in mind that our fireplace model is one of the models that this blower was specifically designed for.

The FBK-200 is a variable speed blower kit that includes a rheostat variable speed controller, but DOES NOT include a thermostat. The FBK-200's rheostat is designed to replace an existing wall switch. The wall switch operates the electrical outlet below your fireplace.

If no designated wall switch for the blower is present, the FBK-250 blower kit must be used.

Another feature added to our FBK-200 kit is a galvanized mounting bracket. Over time, common steel brackets have a tendency to rust. After 14 years, the remote on my Heat n Glo fireplace finally gave up the ghost. It had been getting harder and harder to use over time, despite fresh batteries in the remote itself and in the receiver box, and despite tinkering with the screw on the remote. We often had to tap or bang the remote a certain way while holding the on or off button to get it to work.

I bought this device to replace the dead remote/receiver, installed this in minutes last night, and it is working very well. The receiver box on this unit is a plug in, as opposed to the battery powered one I replaced, but I had an unused outlet under the fireplace already so there was no problem with plugging this device in. I'm thinking it will be nicer not to have to change the batteries in the receiver box like I did over the years with the old one.

This is a great device and does what it is supposed to do. When I began using it, I realized that in my application, I would like to have an automatic timed shutdown so that I don't accidentally leave the house with the fireplace on. Although there are devices with countdown timers, they also have an "ON" setting that bypasses the timer. I haven't found a unit that does exactly what I have in mind, but the 1410 does what it does just fine.

I looked at a lot of wall hung electric fireplace/heaters, and chose this one due in large part to a thorough review that told me the unit vents the heat from the bottom of the unit, unlike most others. This was just what I wanted but hadn't found yet.

The unit came well packaged, but without mounds of extra unnecessary cardboard or bubble wrap.

It was really easy for me to install by myself (an average size 5'3" woman) with clear directions.

Originally the photo associated with this was of another estate design fireplace, (don't worry the correct image is up now) so when I received it that was the only thing that was disappointing; however, my husband convinced me the black design would work best in our living room and he was right. I get many compliments on this fireplace and the kids love it because I can change the backlight colors. A very cool feature is the heater....the heat works great and comes out from the bottom on the far left and far right, you have the option to use only one side, both or none. The remote is easy to use and gives you several flame options as well as backlight options. I am happy with this purchase and the only thing I need to figure out is how to hide the cord to make it perfect.

I was very disappointed in the look of this heater. It looks nothing like the picture. It is a small plastic looking screen surrounded by black metal. If you have a nice house, you will not want this hanging on your wall. I could not get past how it looked so I cannot say if it's a good heater or not as far as warmth goes but it certainly was a let down. I was so looking forward to having it.

The instructions weren't the greatest and it took a little longer than I was expecting to put the shelves up, but once up they are very sturdy and provide space for the smaller items that I keep in my shed like weed killer, empty plant pots, etc. I had some scrap wood laying around to put on the ledges to make the shelves so keep in mind if you don't have the scrap wood you'll have to pick some up. The shelves are six inches deep.

The top shelf doesn't leave much room for anything because the roof slants over top of it so taller items don't fit up there easily. I've opened my shed to find lighter weight items from the shelves on the floor; it seems that wind gets into the shed through the vents and knocks things off of the shelf.

It's a good item for the price.

I bought this stove 2 years ago when they were priced at $1050.00. For the money it is a great little stove for the money they are asking now there are a lot more stoves' out there with better features, like: Ash Draw and agitator. If this stove had that I would buy another one. But now you have to shut down the stove everyday to clean it and the 40lb. hopper only uses about 30lbs and then shut downs. If there were an agitator to burn all of the pellets you could get the 14 hours burning time instead you get about 8 10 hours. If they dropped their price back to $1050, I would buy this stove. It has not broken down and heats my whole 1600 sq ft house during our New England winters.

We bought the England's Stove Works 25-PDV pellet stove. If the stove worked properly, it would be a fantastic piece of machinery. Unfortunately, from the beginning, the stove has not worked smoothly. Have had blower issues, auger issues, constant noise, error messages, and consistent shutdowns. To those who claim that product and customer service fabulous, I say, "Wow!" Are you sure?? We've had nothing but heartache right from the beginning. The stove is cleaned and maintained daily to the utmost degree. You'd think the machinery was a Lamborghini instead of a pellet stove. Horrible, horrible, despicable product. So unreliable & problematic. Would never go near this company for endless reasons again. Should have done more homework. The company does not provide technical services (everything is your own out-of-pocket expense even if the parts are under warranty), 24 hour customer service is not available, and no weekend customer service at all. We purchased this in November 08 and have used it since. We live in Minnesota in a old 2 story house and it heats our home very well. The only complaints I have is that we need to shut it down and clean it every day and a couple of times it has shut down on its own. I will tell you that it is really a multifuel as this winter we have burned oats in it as our corn did not dry down enough to be picked this fall. When it is real cold -15 or lower we add some wood pellets to our oats for extra heat. We never have to have the stove over 5 no matter how cold. The truth is last winter when we burned corn we had trouble with it being to warm so we would add wood pellets for less heaat. So I would recommend this stove highly. We did have one opportunity and I do mean opportunity to work with Customer Service and it was wonderful. They did not talk down to me even though I am a woman. Other companies need to learn what real customer service is from this company. I called them because I the stove was making more noise then when we first started using it, about 1 month later and no questions they sent out a new motor and did not even want the other returned. I can not tell you how good they are to work with. As I read in anohter person comment they also called us to make sure we had recieved the part and to see if every thing was ok a week after I called them. Our son bought a American Harvest Stove and has had a lot of trouble with it and US Stoves (manufacturer) customer service is terrible. It took 6 times of waiting online, at least 30 minutes each time, for him to talk to anyone and all he got was the run around. He had his a year before we bought ours that is why we did not go with that brand. Like I said the big negative is that we have to clean it once a day. GREAT Company.

After looking at pellets stoves in my local area and reading reviews on them, I decided to buy a England's Stove from Homedepot.com. I saw other stoves that looked nicer, with fake bricks and bigger windows, but for the price and excellent reviews I choice this stove. They said that customer service was great and let me tell you they are. I called several times for stupid reasons and the staff was so nice and helpful(and spoke English which was great for me). The stove also comes with a instructional video, which was wonderful when my husband had to change the gaskets and do the yearly maintenance. I love my stove and the heat it gives me during the winter months, I live on a cement slab and it really helps. Thank you England Stove.

I got my stove in August 2008, I had issues with a couple wires that ran too close from a metal flange where due to heat It melted the wires causing a short.

Customer service was excellent, they replaced all damaged parts under warranty no questions asked!

Customer service called at my home and mobile phone to make sure all was OK, you just dont get this type of service anymore!

Emails were also exchanged and detail explanation send, It just dont get any better than that.

Very happy with the heat output, Its plenty of heat for a 1800 sq ft colonial type home.

seems t blow out a little hea but nothing substantial. It makes more noise than it serves a purpose for in my opinion. It was difficult to install as well since the instructions were not real clear. It goes all the way in the back of the fireplace on the bottom and it blows air up the back of the firebox and it comes out the top by the hood. It only uses like 18watts when its energized so at least its not going to raise your electric bill too much. ,
