For the past 3 years, we've been using a terribly inefficient grate in our fireplace. We achieved the ambiance of a fire but no real benefit in the past. It was a basic looking grate, no ember retainer. I can't say enough good things about this new grate! The old one didn't retain any embers/coals, all the logs rolled off it, it was so frustrating to use.

We have looked many times for a nice cast-iron grate, even locally on CL for a used one... but we are very happy with this purchase. This grate is very solid and it's the real deal. We could not find any price better then this one for something comparable. Heck, you'd pay more at a big box store for the chincey grate w/ember retainer that melts within a season's use.

The main selling point of this grate is that from the 1st fire we made, it was effortless and using the same amount of wood as with the other gratethis one gives off a much bigger/hotter fire. We usually just use 3 logs, plus whatever we start the fire with, and with this grate 3 logs heats our family room up unlike the other grate where we'd barely notice heat coming out of the fireplace. There is also a significant difference in the amount of smoke that's coming into the house (with the old grate smoke just circulated all around the fireplace and would inevitebly come out into our home, this grate provides the correct airflow to have the smoke going UP the chimney like it should) ***and yes, I know that the wood you're burning affects the amount of smoke, so my opinion is with that taken into consideration because we have been using only well seasoned pure oak. I really do think this grate make a difference.

I would buy this grate again and again, but thankfully I wont have to!

This grate failed within 2 months of use....a 3" x 10" long section of grating broke off due to heat failure. Kind of ironic since it's a fireplace grate....you'd think it should be able to stand up to high heat. At first glance it seems well built......but in use it failed miserably. I guess if you don't plan on building fires it's fine.

And to top it off, the seller refused a refund request since it's beyond the 30 day window. THUMBS DOWN to both the manufacturer & the seller, Promax Commerce.

Was in the market for a gas fire pit table. Bought this unit after reviewing several on line. Delivery was quick. I would give high marks for that. However the box was bulky and heavy so my wife & I decided to open the main box and move the indivual packages to our backyard individually the round table top, a box containing the burner unit, screws and covers (for firepit & gas bottle), a box containing the stand panels, a box of fire glass (heaviest) and the lp tank drawer. Had I known that they provide the pit cover I would not need to buy another cover and spent extra $$$. The "faux wood" is actually sheet steel so are the stand panels. There are some rust stains on the stand panels when I received them. For the assembly, we uses a power drill with philips screw driver and a hand held philips screw driver (for areas where the drill-driver is too broad). The instructions are ok as long as you use some common sense and be really observant of the parts details. I have to disassemble and reassemble the stand as I put one panel upside down.(After assemblying tons of furniture, I think the Ikea instructions are the best). Some hole does not align perfectly between the stand and the table top and need to use some force to align them in order to fix the two together. Same issue was encountered when assembling the lp gas drawer to the stand. As to the final fitting of the door, we had to loosen some screws, readjust the panels and tighten them again so that the door can fit and close itself. BTW the door is held close by a magnetic latch. The pit cover fit snuggly over the table and covers to about 2" off the ground. All in it took my wife and I about an hour to get the job done. As for the workmanship, I think its made in China or some 3rd world place. As to appearance, it not as appealing as the brochure but I hope it works well. As to it's price, after all the hassle, I think they made a ton of money from this but there doesn't seem to be a less pricey similar unit. I'll just say not completely satisfied but also no violent resentment.

We ordered this fire pit table last week and it arrived promptly. It took us approx. 45 minutest to put together, and it started right up. We've sat around it every evening since then. The fireglass looks lovely at night, the flame gives off the right amount of heat when it's around 55-60 degrees outside, and the table is perfect for making s'mores! Got this back in late June 2013. Went together just fine, but it didn't work for me right away. I found out after calling the company that you can't turn on t propane on more than one turn, otherwise it will vapor lock (or something like that). Once I got that figured out, it worked fine. UNTIL I had to change our the tank. When that happened, I grabbed my tank from my grill (which was nearly full and working fine). Result: couldn't get it started. Tried all kinds of things, contacted the company 3 times, went through their recommendations over the phone, still didn't work. We have no idea why. So they ordered a replacement part in the ignitor system. It's been backordered for over 2 months. I asked if I could just replace the whole bowl system which includes the ignitor. Nope, it's also backordered. Of course, this is the nice time of year to use the fire pit and it still doesn't work. Not happy at all. Overall, it was OK when it worked (even if finicky), but this is ridiculous. Based on my experience, I would NOT recommend purchasing this item.

First off, I am a firm believer that a fireplace should, you know, have real fire in it. I was very hesitant about getting an electric fireplace because some of them are so cheesy looking. After shopping around, my husband and I weren't able to find a gas fireplace that we liked, and we weren't sold on gel, so we decided to try out the electric. I'm so glad that we did. The fireplace is absolutely lovely! It is very heavy duty and well made. It is veneered, but you wouldn't know it. We had to really look to actually determine that it wasn't solid wood. It is a bit of work to put together, but if you have a power drill it is much easier. The flames and logs are controlled independently so you can make them brighter or dimmer. On the lowest 3 settings the flames are very convincing, to the point that people have asked if it is a gas or electric fireplace. You can also run it with or without heat, which is very nice. It also comes with a handy little remote. We have a small living room (11 x 15) and use the fireplace to supplement our forced air heat. It makes the room very cozy and warm. The shelving on the sides is very handy, we were able to retrofit it to house our electronics. Everyone who has seen it loves it and so do we! The only thing that I didn't like was the obnoxious warning sticker on the front glass. It peels off easily but leaves a lot of sticky residue. It came off after some scrubbing and doesn't change my opinion about the quality of the product.

This fireplace heats my 24 X 24 office perfectly and looks so beautiful and creates a cozy yet professional environment. My 47 inch flat TV sits on top which was the primary reason for this unit! Winters are tough in Chicago and rather than turning up the heat in the whole house, I can tourn on the fireplace and I am warm and cozy in my at-home professional office! the price was compatible with producs at Lowes, Home Depot and Mernards but this is much better looking and a fair price!

The product looks good when assembled, and assembly is not difficult, instructions are pretty good considering it comes from China. We had some problems, however, first with the delivery, when one of the delivery men (it comes via a trucking company, as it is too big for UPS or Fedex) dropped the box containing the fireplace unit in our driveway because he was in such a hurry that he tried to carry our paperwork in one hand and the box in his other hand-didn't work! Luckily, the packing was strong enough that there was no damage to the unit. Then, when opening the fireplace mantel box, we found three damaged pieces inside-surprisingly they were in the center of the carton, presumably well-protected from shipping damage. Who knows? Maybe they were packed in damaged condition at the factory in China. Anyway, a phone call to SEI in Texas had the required replacement parts on their way, and they arrived 8 calendar days later via UPS. Customer service was good, but I was still frustrated by having to wait the extra week to continue the assembly, as I had already assembled the bookcases. I think this item is a decent value compared to the prices I've seen in stores or online. However, I also believe all electric fireplaces like this are very overpriced considering what you actually get. We hope it will last for a good long time, but we'll have to wait and see on that.

This is the smallest fireplace type space heater I have seen. I have used the larger size in my bedroom, but even on low, it was too much warmth for the space. This smaller Dimplex unit is just right. In about a 12'x12' room, a few hours of this heater on low warms us up on nights when it's in the low 30s, upper 20's. I'm very happy with it; the style is great and it isn't hot to the touch. Unlike the larger types, the heat on this one comes out of the lower front panel instead of from further underneathbut that's the only difference. The power is wonderful and the flames-look, relaxing. It's also very quiet.

I looked at a lot of wall hung electric fireplace/heaters, and chose this one due in large part to a thorough review that told me the unit vents the heat from the bottom of the unit, unlike most others. This was just what I wanted but hadn't found yet.

The unit came well packaged, but without mounds of extra unnecessary cardboard or bubble wrap.

It was really easy for me to install by myself (an average size 5'3" woman) with clear directions.

I live in an older home that does not have any insulation in the walls, and when I turn the unit on in the bedroom, it turns a frigid room into a comfortable one within about 5-10 minutes.

I would recommend this to anyone wanting a space heater that is attractive and doesn't take up floor space and doesn't project far from the wall when hung properly.

Originally the photo associated with this was of another estate design fireplace, (don't worry the correct image is up now) so when I received it that was the only thing that was disappointing; however, my husband convinced me the black design would work best in our living room and he was right. I get many compliments on this fireplace and the kids love it because I can change the backlight colors. A very cool feature is the heater....the heat works great and comes out from the bottom on the far left and far right, you have the option to use only one side, both or none. The remote is easy to use and gives you several flame options as well as backlight options. I am happy with this purchase and the only thing I need to figure out is how to hide the cord to make it perfect.

It is absolute the best heater I have ever used!!! I tried over 8-9 heaters ranges from $70 to $250 (all with 4+ ratings, as I read all reviews before buying) and I rarely would give anything 5 star. Here is why: 1)It is very quiet, 2) warm, 3) it has a temperature control which was a bonus as it was not on the description when I purchased it 4) the temperature is very accurate unlike many others out there, it shuts off right when it reaches the temp, 5) very attractive looking, 6) can be stand alone or wall mounted. We used it in our bedroom, which I think is a waste as it is so pretty that it should be placed in the living room to show it off! Excellent buy!

I was very disappointed in the look of this heater. It looks nothing like the picture. It is a small plastic looking screen surrounded by black metal. If you have a nice house, you will not want this hanging on your wall. I could not get past how it looked so I cannot say if it's a good heater or not as far as warmth goes but it certainly was a let down. I was so looking forward to having it.

My brother has a Mosquito Magnet (MM), but I think my SkeeterVac SV-27 (1 acre) works alot better. I live in a moderately wooded area, lots of bugs, so does my brother. The TackTraps catch lots of the annoying little black flies too, which is great the MM does not have the tacktrap feature. The customer service is top notch too. After only one year, I had a broken start button (just a busted spring), but they sent me a whole new motor unit for nothing! Just remember to clean the unit before you start it at the beginning of the season, and at the end before you put it away or it won't work properly!!!

We live in an area that has a protected county park right outside our backyard fence. This park is heavily wooded and quite damp as well. This means we have a major mosquito problem. After 8pm we were forced to go inside or be eaten alive. You could easily get 5 bites within 2 minutes after dark.

We tried everything from torches to incense. Nothing really worked all that great. This summer I am pregnant so I am unable to use any sprays that contain deet. That was our main driving factor for wanting a product like the skeeterVac. After looking at MANY different brands (Mosquito Magnet included) We decided to get the SV-27 1 acre version.

We hooked it up and the very first night it caught about 100 mosquitoes. I have to admit I was having fun going out to check on how well it was doing. It only caught maybe 10 during the day, but once the sun went down we brought in the swarms.

Placement is VERY, VERY important. You want to make sure you put it in a shady area near bushes/weeds/flowers or near wet areas. This will help attract the maximum number of bugs. The first place we put it worked out great. Every single night we catch hundreds and hundreds of mosquitoes. We've had it about a week now and already I can notice a difference when going out at night. I'm not swarmed and I can actually sit outside without being eaten alive! I can only imagine this will get better as the weeks go on and we cut down on the mosquito population.

Let me tell you why I think this product works so well and why you should buy this INSTEAD of the more expensive mosquito magnet (or other brands):

First off this unit is CORDLESS! It works on the propane tank and one AA battery. You can place it anywhere you want without having to worry about the cord. (think of what a pain a cord would be when its time to mow the lawn)

Even though its cordless its still quite powerful. Placing your hand near the fan you can easily feel the air that sucks the mosquitoes into the traps. (NOTE, this is the sv-27 1 acre version. The 1/2 acre version does NOT have a fan and may not work as well)

This product uses FIVE methods to attract and kill mosquitoes:

1) CO2

2) Fan suction

3) Scented Bait

4) Sticky paper in mosquito attracting black/white colors. (not found on most other units!)

5) Flashing colored LED lights (not found on most other units!)

These five items make it irresistible to mosquitoes. Now the only time I get bit is when I walk over to the machine to check on how well its working.

Not only does it have more methods of attracting and killing mosquitoes, but its also MORE AFFORDABLE than other brands! Why would you buy anything else??? Another bonus.... the bait in this unit lasts for SIXTY days vs the MM 30 day bait. (Another savings!)

I give this unit 5 stars. It works well and its more affordable than competitors. If you have a big mosquito problem like we did, its worth the investment. I know it seems like a lot, but start keeping track of what you already spend on repellent and you may be able to justify the cost.

I wanted to come back and edit my review to include an update on the product. 3 months after purchase we had problems getting the motor to stay running. It would ignite, the temp needle would climb for about 15 seconds, and then it would go out and the needle would go back down. I was told prior to buying the product that this was a known issue with ALL propane mosquito attractant systems. I bought the skeetervac knowing this might happen, but was reassured that their customer service was excellent. (Another reason I picked SkeeterVac over Mosquito Magnet)

Thankfully the other reviewers were right. Their customer service is GREAT. I called and explained the problem. They told me how to check the fuel filter as well as how to try and blow out the input line with some compressed air. Neither worked, but they were still very helpful and ready to send out a replacement right away! After receiving my receipt proving that I wasn't over my 1 year warrenty, they mailed out a brand new motor! I hooked the motor up on Sunday and its up and running again!

The only con is they do not pay for return shipping. It isn't too bad though b/c I was able to ship the motor back, (I choose to go with UPS) for around $12 (including insurance coverage). You can ship the cheapest way you want as long as you get it back to them, so you may find it cheaper to go with another carrier.

Customer service was friendly and helpful. I still give this unit 5 stars. I knew the failure possibility when buying the machine, but I also knew Blue Rino is the type of company to stand behind their products and properly replace them in an afforadable and timely manner. They were always very friendly and willing to help keep the customer happy!

By the way, I agree with the reviewer below, Northline Express does have the best prices on replacement tac traps and bait. We caught SO many mosquitos in just the 3 months we had it running, I was amazed!

I purchased this from Toby's Tool Shed because the combined shipping with some furnace cement was the best deal I could find. However, the order was shipped in a box about 4x the size of the elbow and the two containers of cement were not packed to keep them stationary. Each 16 oz. container weighed about 2 lbs., they bounced around in the box they beat the daylights out of the pipe... and that's not small feat. Needless to say, the pipe was damaged.

The good news is that this elbow is made of 24 gauge steel and built like a tank. If you don't need a flexible elbow this is the best you can use on your stove because it will not leak or allow air to enter around the connections like a flexible elbow. I have a reverse pipe system on my Blaze King wood stove so the crimped end goes into the stove fitting. Most stoves have a system where the crimped ends point toward the chimney which makes for a better system since the gases are flowing with the connections and not against them. In my system you have to seal the joints with furnace cement and some screws or it will leak. The damage to the elbow I received was primarily on the crimped end and it's almost impossible to straighten this heavy metal.

I think this is a great pipe and prices here were less than those for a flexible elbow at the box stores.

My old spark cap on top of the chimney rusted away, and I had a serious problem with starlings nesting in my chimney for quite a while before I finally found this.

Stainless means buying it just once and never worrying about it again. Can't find any fault with that! The fit was very loose, and I couldn't find a size that was closer, but replacing the included screws with longer stainless ones got the job done, no problems.
